Description John Taylor Crane Services are a family firm of crane specialists, based in Bedfordshire, and established since 1981. We offer a range of services from recovery to major repair or rebuild of mobile cranes that have been involved in road traffic accidents, set on fire, have bent booms or have toppled over – throughout the UK and abroad. Whatever your crane problem, we’ll come to you, assess it, recover it, repair it, test it and return it to you. Another major component of our business is JT Mini Crane hire – incredibly compact cranes that provide the capacity and reach of much larger machines. These are the only solution in areas with restricted access or for a confined working space. JT Crane Services have the skills, resources, knowledge and experience to turn repairs around quickly, to the highest standards, and we pride ourselves on our commitment to technical research, customer research and product development. The company started in January 1981 after John and Penny got a bank loan, bought a van and started working as John Taylor Crane and Plant Field Repair. John attended breakdowns all over the UK and spent a lot of time away from home, often working offshore on oil rigs while Penny managed the administration and finances from the dining room of the family home in Stotfold, Hertfordshire – along with sending John off to work in the very early hours with a full stomach! After working with John during the summer holidays it was natural step for Russell to join the family concern with his sister joining later who quickly introduced computerised systems into the offices. Over the years the business has grown and now has 8 employees carrying out crane repair, crane rebuilds for resale and mini crane hire. John has 40 years’ experience in the industry and Russ has 20 years. The business now operates from two sites in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. The main site is located in Great Gransden, with testing carried out on a site at Bourn Airfield. Major clients include Liebherr, Terex, Manitowoc, Gottwold and Grove crane manufacturers and crane hire companies such as Ainscough, Baldwin, Emerson, Terranova, King Lifting, Peterborough Crane Hire and Welch’s Crane Hire.
